Basic Truths to healing your family tree

Healing the Family Tree

The Basic Truths to healing your family tree:

The Mass is the most powerful form of prayer.

"Deliver us from evil" the most common prayer "The Lord's Prayer" is a prayer which we ask Our Lord Jesus Christ to deliver us from all bondages and all evil. . . not only for us who are still living, but also for those who have gone before us.

Every family has infermities, pain, and disfunctions.  Every family has a need for healing.  Even Jesus' own family tree had a need for healing. (Matthew 1:2-16)

When we talk about healing the family tree, we are talking about healing past generations as well as present and future generations in the family tree.
  1. First work out your family tree genogram.
  2. Review the patterns and think of some patterns that may be unique to your own family.
  3. Mark the places where the same thing has been re-ocurring in your family tree more than two or three times.
  4. When you identify this, you have established a pattern.
At the beginning: We pray for forgiveness and forgive those who have offended us. Forgiveness is not a feeling it is an act of the will.
At the Prayer of the Faithful: We pray for the breaking of curses (The Prayer) and bondages (General Intercessions) in the family.
At the Offertory: We pray for the healing of the specific patterns that you have identified.
At the Consecration: We pray silently before the consecrated Lord for the healing of my family tree.
At the Remembrance of the dead: We release all the departed members of our family into the fullness of God’s Love. We forgive them and ask their forgiveness for anything between us and want us all to be in the one family of God here and hereafter. We also accept all aborted and miscarried babies into the family; we name them, ask their forgiveness and release them into the fullness of God’s Love so that we may be a family here and in the hereafter.
After Communion: We pray the unity of our common adoption as God’s children especially through the Mass and Sacraments.

After the Mass
The Leading Observe your family and keep on praying for the leading. This is the healing that is taking place or the changes that you observe happening in your family.

Questions about the Healing Process

What emotional or personal unease or problems do you have?
Do these involve a beloved person with whom you now have a wounded relationship?
Do these involve a trauma you experienced?
Are their patterns of failure in dealing with others significant relationships, employment?

Do these patterns exist in the family or the family history?
Do you cultivate big or little addictions in order to cope?
Do you feel in bondage?
Has there been sexual, physical or verbal abuse acting out or mis-conduct?
of which you are the victim? or have  perpetrated to some degree or the other? or are there any patterns of this in the family and the family history? Are any of these associated with acts you carried out or behaviors you exhibited?
What major events marked the family's history, such as war, natural disaster, ethnic strife, economic loss?  Are there miscarriages, still born babies or abortions that haven't been resolved?
